Even if you are not in an area immediately affected by Hurricane Sandy, your TalknSave service may be affected. Please read the below. 

Service Interruptions
The international, complex nature of our service mean some operations are based all over the world. Simply stated, aspects of your phone service - most notably virtual number service may be interrupted. Our service providers are mostly back up and running, but fluctuations in power and heavy traffic on the telecommunications grid may mean you experience the occasional difficulty. Additionally, many phone lines in the USA are down because of the storm. Please be patient.

Locations / Agencies in the US / Canada 
Due to the storm, several of our US and Canada locations are operating under reduced hours or are closed entirely. Feel free to contact us for updated information, or contact the location directly - see our locations page.

Shipping and Returns in the USA 
Our main shipping office in the USA is in the 5 Towns, NY - that office is currently closed. UPS deliveries are delayed or halted for much of the East coast. If you are awaiting delivery of your phone, or are waiting for confirmation that your phone was returned, please be patient. If you are able to travel to Israel but your equipment was not delivered in time, contact us - in most cases we can arrange delivery to you in Israel.

Travel Delays 
Many airports and airlines are not operating their usual Israel flights. We understand that your trip dates may not be what you originally planned! If you need to change the dates of your rental, please email info@talknsave.net with your new details. We will do our best to accomodate you.

Data plans in Israel: why getting a local plan makes sense

As the international cellular market develops, not all providers are lowering prices. In fact, major American mobile operator Verizon has recently updated their roaming plan for Israel as follows:

$1.99/minute for incoming and outgoing calls
$20.00/megabyte for data

It is no surprise that a Verizon customer roaming in Israel could easily incur hundreds or even thousands of dollars in charges.

Breaking down the cost
Let’s say the average webpage, including images, flash etc., is 300kb. At the rates I was charged, I could view 9 webpages before I met my average cost of monthly data service.
To put everything into perspective, a 15 minute Skype call would cost $875.
Watching one music video on Youtube would cost you about $200.

ANNOUNCE SUPPORT FOR SMALL COMPANIES LOOKING TO ENTER

ISRAEL'S CELLULAR SERVICE MARKET

Israel's Minister of Communications Moshe Kahalon visited the Jerusalem headquarters of Talk'n'Save, a fast developing cell phone service provider, to explore potential areas of cooperation between the company and the Communications Ministry. The meeting focused on Israel's mobile market and in particular, the ability of smaller niche market operators such as Talk'n'Save to boost competition and encourage operators to come up with more attractive offers for customers.

Minister Kahalon saluted the initiative of Talk'n'Save for the steps the company has taken to develop a full-service facility. The Minister did acknowledge that smaller niche market companies like Talk'n'Save do face specific challenges in this new environment and announced that he will be working to refine the laws to help the interests of those companies.

Talk'n'Save, founded in 1999, serves as a mobile phone provider largely catering to the student and tourist markets and foreigners spending extended periods of times living in Israel. The company has placed special emphasis on developing its infrastructural capacity to provide top level service for the English and French-speaking customer base.

The Talk'n'Save CEO said that he welcomed the Minister's support and confidence.
