Moshe Kahalon visits Talk'n'Save

MINISTER OF COMMUNICATIONS KAHALON VISITS TALK'N'SAVE TO
ANNOUNCE SUPPORT FOR SMALL COMPANIES LOOKING TO ENTER
ISRAEL'S CELLULAR SERVICE MARKET

Israel's Minister of Communications Moshe Kahalon visited the Jerusalem headquarters of Talk'n'Save, a fast developing cell phone service provider, to explore potential areas of cooperation between the company and the Communications Ministry. The meeting focused on Israel's mobile market and in particular, the ability of smaller niche market operators such as Talk'n'Save to boost competition and encourage operators to come up with more attractive offers for customers.

Minister Kahalon saluted the initiative of Talk'n'Save for the steps the company has taken to develop a full-service facility. The Minister did acknowledge that smaller niche market companies like Talk'n'Save do face specific challenges in this new environment and announced that he will be working to refine the laws to help the interests of those companies.

Talk'n'Save, founded in 1999, serves as a mobile phone provider largely catering to the student and tourist markets and foreigners spending extended periods of times living in Israel. The company has placed special emphasis on developing its infrastructural capacity to provide top level service for the English and French-speaking customer base.

The Talk'n'Save CEO said that he welcomed the Minister's support and confidence. "We are excited that the Minister realizes and understands the value of openness in the Israeli cellular marketplace," he said, "particularly for niche markets that we serve - the Anglo and French speaking population of Israel."

Talk'n'Save is an international company focused on providing tourist and travelers with mobile communication services. Founded as a private corporation in 1999, the company is headquartered in New York with offices  in Israel and the UK. Since its founding, Talk'n'Save has provided over 100,000 cell phones to students and tourists.

Use your own Blackberry in Israel for calls, surfing and email

We're thrilled to announce we're restarting our Blackberry program. Back in May 2008, we launched our initial Blackberry service, but we were unhappy with the amount of limitations it offered.

But now - it's better than ever before!

Bring your own Blackberry from home and use our SIM for...
SURFING
EMAIL
& CALLS!

We've eliminated the need for renting two devices (one for calls, one for email), or paying massive Blackberry roaming fees. Another innovation - from Talk'n'Save!

Please see full compatibility and rate information for using your Blackberry in Israel.

Students - we're taking customer service further!

In their eleventh year of specializing in phone service for students in Israel, Talk'n'Save has recently been working even harder to do what cell phone companies usually don't do: trying to lower their customers' bills!

Talk'n'Save was practically the first phone rental for Israel company to offer package plans for users, where a bundle of minutes per month would be purchased, and overage fees charged when a client's usage exceeded the package. While customers can of course check on their usage throughout the billing month, many customers do not keep track - and many customers end up spending considerable sums on overage fees.

"Our clients' best interests are our best interests," said Avigdor Factor, assistant to the CEO. "So we've recently been contacting those students whose bills have been running into overage, and we've suggested switching plans to reduce fees - and reduce their bills." By email and by phone, students or their parents were informed that their bills could have been much smaller, and more realistic plans were suggested.

"The feedback we are getting from the students is amazing," Factor says, "and it's a win-win situation."

Previously, Talk'n'Save has lowered rates during customers' rentals, ran promotions and specials, but the current personalized assistance being offered is truly indicative of their policy of putting customers first.

Talk'n'Save offers cellular phone and SIM rentals for students and tourists to Israel and the whole world (such as China, USA, England and more), as well as modem rentals, virtual numbers, and more. For more information on their rates and programs, see www.talknsave.net.

Talk'n'Save CEO in the news!

Check out the Winter 2009 issue of Jewish Spirit magazine for their great article on Judaism and business ethics, featuring our own Jeremy Berzon!

Here's an excerpt:

I see my workday as an exercise in character building, says Jeremy Berzon of Jerusalem, CEO of Talk & Save, an international cell-phone rental company which primarily serves North Americans coming to Israel. I know that as an observant Jew, I represent Judaism to many of the people with whom I come into contact and it is so important to me to reflect positively on my heritage.

I make sure not to have anything going on in my business that carries even the slightest suggestion of impropriety. There are of course many situations a person in business might find himself in that, while they are legal and within the letter of the law, nevertheless just dont smell right. I stay away from all such things because I know that I am a visible representation to many people of what Judaism is. This is a standard of which I am very conscious at all times and it has forced me to remain above reproach.

Through my work, I have also had the pleasure of introducing many people to what Judaism is all about. One VP of a communications company used to joke with me, suggesting that maybe Id want to start off our meetings each time with a Torah thought. Finally, I decided to take him up on it and before long it became an official part of the schedule. He even wrote it into his calendar first, a little study time; then the meeting. And it was intriguing and enlightening for him, it was his first experience with delving into classics like the parsha or the Haggada.

I have seen time and time again that when people see that we conduct ourselves with integrity, and treat them with respect, as our Torah has taught us, they take note of it. It is clear to me that we are representing something to them, something important.
